Just a watercolor test that came out ok. Peter S. Beagle's "The Last Unicorn".
What a pretty painting~!^u^
EPIC!!!! I love Horses, Unicorns, Pegasus and Alicorns.
Just okay? My friend, if I'd done this myself I don't see how it could be any better.
Very beautiful. I really like the storybook kind of feel to it.
I love it! Simply beautiful.
Beautiful. It feels sad though, because she's leaving, and her forest isn't an eternal spring.
I love your watercolor artworks! Especially the unicorns.
Love the colors of this as much as I love the story and movie
This is so beautiful! I love the autumn colors and the unicorn is so gorgeous! Amazing job!
The colors in this are brilliant. Very nice piece <3
Ooh, this is just stellar--I love the way the mane and tail are billowing!
Another wonderful piece. My coworker commented that you used a lot of paint for it being a watercolor tho. But I reckon that's your style, isn't it ? It doesn't bother me much tho do you use a fineliner?
Very pretty and vibrant. You inked the outlines of the unicorn and the trees, right? Just wondering because I'm trying out watercolors for the first time and was curious as to how well ink showed up with this medium.
I like everything about it Unicorn is so gentle and colors are beautiful.
I need to get that book... I loved that movie as a kid (& got it for x-mas this year )
I love the book. The movie hardly does it justice, though I know a lot of people like the movie. It's just that it isn't the book by a long shot.
i love this picture.. i really do I love the last unicorn! Amazing work! i hope you do some more pictures from the book!
This is so beautiful and dream-like. Those colours evoke a warm yet mysterious atmosphere.
I love the lines of the unicorn. She feels so whispy and windblown and delicate. Lovely image!
Thanks. It was sort of a painting experiment, which came out too flat (not enough desaturated colors for distance), but I did sort of like how the unicorn came out. Makes me want to retry something in this style.
And yes, I way heart Beagle.
And yes, I way heart Beagle.
Gorgeous work! I've always sucked with watercolors (then again I suck at drawing altogether) but the finesse of detail is beautiful.
Aw, thanks. I'm just starting watercolor classes, so hopefully I'll learn more stuff soon.
so pretty! I love the mane especially, and the autumn colors!
Thank you. I need to do more unicorn stuffs...
This is so beautiful. I loved this movie when I was little. I need to go watch it again.
Thanks. I love the movie and the book.
This is GORGEOUS! I have no words for how awesome this piece is. The trees are beautiful, I looove silver birch and they're quite fitting here too. The Last Unicorn is one of my favourite books/films (it surprised me how faithful the film is to the book - gorgeous animation too ).
Aw, thanks. I love this book too, but it's been ages since I've seen the cartoon. It was surprisingly accurate, though.
That's absolutely beautiful, I especially like the colors you've chosen.
OMG! I haven't seen the last unicorn in ages! Its a nice change to see her in an autumn setting for once(the motion of the trees is awesome work)
Thanks. I should do more illustrations for that book. I love it, and of course I'm a sucker for autumn.
Oh...the Last Unicorn. When I was a little kid, I was such a dork I figured I'd grow up to be a unicorn. I practiced too.
*laughs* That's hilarious. How, pray tell, does one practice to be a unicorn? Did it involve attaching a dish towel to the back of your pants to serve as a tail? I found this most effective when I was being the fox from Fox and the Hound. And I was the fox. I wasn't pretending, mind you. (In my defense, I was also seven.)
No dish towel except on weekends. During the week, one learns to trot to school. I wasn't pretending either - I think I took the old "You can be whatever you want when you grow up" line a bit too seriously. In my defense, I was also around 6 or 7, but I meant business, let me tell you.
i love the way the unicorn is drawn One of my favorite styles
